I guess I can always start with what Enzo's up to these days. We took him to the doctor's last Thursday for his 9 month check up. It's always good news to hear that he's nice and healthy. His recent ear infections are all cleared up and the best news of all, his heart is still sounding great. He weighs nearly 18 lbs and is 27 inches tall - which puts him in around the 2oth percentile for both height and weight. What he lacks for in that area, he makes up for it in his head size - he's in the 90th percentile for head! That big head is probably from how much his parents love him and how often we tell him how cute he is.
We're always amazed at how much he can change in such a short time. It seems over night that he starts doing something new. When the doctor asked on Thursday about his development, he had no teeth, didn't say anything but "ahhhhh" and "mamama", and would stand up but couldn't crawl. The next morning he woke up, and decided he had something to say! He now says "dada" and various forms of yaya and baba. His good ole standby, "mama" has become his swear word. He says everything else when he's happy, but when he's frustrated or isn't getting what he wants, it's "mamamama MAMAMAMA MA!" He's also close to some teeth, if he'll let us check we can feel one or two coming in on the bottom.
| If you look closely, you can see those bottom two teeth right there, ready to come in. |
One of Enzo's favorite things to do is feed himself. He was never big on the baby food, so he eats everything that mommy and daddy eat. And if he discovers he can feed it to himself, good luck on getting it into his mouth any other way. He even knows how to use a fork...kind of.
Last night we gave him jello for the first time. It was so much fun to watch him poke at the jello and laugh as he watched it wiggle around.
We also recently took Enzo to the zoo. He's been with Mommy before, but this was Daddy's first trip to the zoo with him. Here are a few pictures:
You're blog is so cute Steph!- I'm excited :)
